India's First Android ELS Deployment Goes Live

Pert Telecom Solutions Pvt. Ltd. (PertSol) has successfully implemented and operationalized Android Emergency Location Service (ELS) in India with UP-112, marking the country's first deployment of Android ELS. This milestone significantly advances India's public safety and emergency response capabilities by enabling emergency responders to receive highly accurate caller location information during verified emergency events. Building on more than a decade of innovation in emergency location technologies, the deployment reinforces PertSol's continued commitment to strengthening India's mission-critical emergency response infrastructure.

A Decade of Advancing Emergency Location Intelligence

For over a decade, PertSol has played a foundational role in modernizing India's emergency services ecosystem. Following the nationwide focus on centralized emergency response after the Nirbhaya incident, the company contributed to mission-critical emergency response initiatives from their earliest stages. In 2016, PertSol achieved another national first by enabling statewide automatic location intelligence for emergency services, allowing distress caller locations to be automatically delivered to Emergency Command and Control Centres supporting Dial 100, 108, and 112, eliminating dependence on manual location identification.

Through seamless integration with telecom operators, the platform reduced emergency vehicle dispatch times, improved response accuracy, and strengthened public safety outcomes, particularly when callers were unable to communicate their location. PertSol has now extended this leadership by integrating Android ELS into the UP-112 emergency framework, enabling seamless ELS data ingestion, interoperability with existing telecom and emergency infrastructure, secure privacy-preserving data handling, and reliable performance at state-scale call volumes.

Strengthening India's Emergency Response Ecosystem Through Continuous Innovation

Developed by Google, Android Emergency Location Service (ELS) automatically calculates high-accuracy location information during an emergency call or SMS by leveraging GPS, Wi-Fi, cellular networks, and onboard device sensors. The location data is securely transmitted only during verified emergency events, ensuring strong user privacy while significantly improving the ability of emergency responders to locate victims quickly and accurately.

With this deployment, PertSol holds a unique position in India's public safety landscape by achieving two national milestones: the first statewide implementation of automatic emergency location services in 2016 and the first deployment of Android Emergency Location Service (ELS) in India in 2025. This continued innovation reflects the company's long-term commitment to building mission-critical, nation-scale public safety solutions aligned with global best practices.

Looking ahead, PertSol plans to collaborate with additional states and stakeholders to expand Android ELS and advanced emergency location capabilities across India, enabling consistent, technology-driven emergency response standards nationwide. Founded in 2014 and headquartered in Mumbai, PertSol specializes in telecom security, emergency services platforms, lawful interception, and location intelligence solutions, delivering secure, scalable, and resilient infrastructure that supports national security and public safety objectives.
