BSNL Advances Indigenous 4G Network Trials
BSNL has initiated the next phase of its indigenous 4G deployment program by shortlisting leading Indian technology companies to participate in the Proof of Concept (PoC) trials for its locally developed 4G network. The shortlisted organizations include Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Tech Mahindra, HFCL, L&T, and ITI, each responsible for validating different combinations of core and radio technologies. The trials represent an important milestone in BSNL's effort to evaluate domestically developed telecom infrastructure before nationwide commercial deployment.

Technology Partners Selected Across Trial Locations
The 4G trials will be conducted across five locations to assess the performance, interoperability, and readiness of the participating technology solutions. TCS, in collaboration with C-DoT for the core network and Tejas Networks and Altiostar for radio access technology, has been assigned Chandigarh for its trial deployment.
Tech Mahindra will conduct its trial in Pune, deploying PertSol's 4G Core alongside radio solutions from Sterlite and Altiostar. HFCL has been assigned Chennai, where it will evaluate PertSol's 4G Core integrated with Mavenir's radio technology. Similarly, L&T will conduct trials in Bengaluru, combining PertSol's 4G Core with Mavenir's radio network solutions. ITI, the state-owned telecom company, will carry out its Proof of Concept deployment in Ambala.
Each participating organization has been provided a four-month evaluation period to successfully deploy and demonstrate the performance of its proposed 4G technology stack.
Proof of Concept to Support Nationwide Commercial Deployment
The Proof of Concept phase is designed to validate the reliability, scalability, and operational readiness of the shortlisted 4G solutions before BSNL proceeds with its nationwide rollout. Upon successful completion of the trials, BSNL will evaluate the performance of each participating technology partner and select the most suitable solution for commercial deployment across its network.
The initiative aligns with the Government of India's objective of strengthening indigenous telecom capabilities by encouraging the use of locally developed network technologies. As part of this effort, BSNL has been mandated to deploy domestically developed equipment for its 4G network, making these trials a significant step toward building a secure, self-reliant, and future-ready telecom infrastructure.
PertSol's selection as the 4G Core technology partner for multiple leading system integrators, including Tech Mahindra, HFCL, and L&T, demonstrates the company's growing role in India's telecom modernization journey. By supporting multiple trial deployments, PertSol continues to contribute advanced indigenous core network technology that enables operators to build scalable, carrier-grade 4G infrastructure while laying a strong foundation for future network evolution.
