PertSol Selected for Nationwide LBS Deployment by BSNL
Pert Telecom Solutions Pvt. Ltd. (PertSol) has been awarded the nationwide Location Based Services (LBS) deployment contract by Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), one of India's leading Tier-1 Telecom Service Providers. Following a competitive bidding process for the PAN India deployment of LBS across BSNL's wireless networks, PertSol was selected to implement its flagship Location Intelligence platform, iLocator, across BSNL's 2G, 3G, and 4G networks. The project represents a significant milestone in strengthening India's telecom infrastructure while supporting regulatory compliance and enabling advanced location-enabled services.
Delivering a Comprehensive Location Intelligence Platform
As part of the engagement, PertSol will undertake the planning, engineering, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, integration, and annual maintenance of the complete Location Based Services ecosystem. The deployment includes key network elements such as Gateway Mobile Location Centre (GMLC), Serving Mobile Location Centre (SMLC), Standalone A-GPS Server (SAS), and Enhanced Serving Mobile Location Centre (e-SMLC), along with seamless integration with BSNL's Lawful Interception System (LIS) and Centralized Monitoring System (CMS) across the North, South, East, and West telecom zones.
Commenting on the achievement, Mitesh Vageriya, CEO of PertSol, stated, "We will ensure timely implementation. LBS once commissioned will help BSNL meet DoT Location Based Services mandates while enabling value-added services such as fleet management. The entire platform is aligned with the Government of India's Aatma Nirbhar Abhiyan."
PertSol's iLocator platform has already been successfully deployed for several state emergency response services, including UP112, Mumbai100, CG112, MP100, MERS112, while implementation is also underway for Gujarat112, demonstrating the platform's proven capability in supporting mission-critical public safety operations.
Strengthening Regulatory Compliance and Emergency Response Across India
The deployment aligns with the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) regulatory framework that made Location Based Services mandatory for Indian Telecom Service Providers. Following the inclusion of LBS requirements under Unified Access Service (UAS) licensing in 2011, telecom operators were required to implement standardized location capabilities across their networks. In 2016, DoT further mandated the integration of Gateway Mobile Location Centres (GMLCs) with Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs), enabling emergency services to automatically receive the real-time location of callers contacting emergency numbers such as 100, 102, 108, and 112.
Through this nationwide implementation, PertSol's iLocator platform will enable BSNL to meet these regulatory obligations while providing accurate, real-time location information to emergency response agencies across the country. In addition to strengthening public safety infrastructure, the platform will allow BSNL to expand commercial Location Based Services across all its telecom circles, supporting applications such as fleet management and other location-driven services. The project reinforces PertSol's expertise in delivering carrier-grade Location Intelligence solutions that combine regulatory compliance, operational reliability, and nationwide scalability to meet the evolving requirements of modern telecom networks.
