The Challenge

For over 800 children from economically marginalised backgrounds at Amcha Ghar English High School & Junior College, the digital world remains out of reach. Many come from rural or financially disadvantaged families with no access to computers or the internet at home — leaving them without the basic digital skills that have become essential to academic and professional life.

Our Initiative

In partnership with Amcha Ghar — a charitable organisation serving underprivileged children since 1996 — PertSol supported the establishment of a modern, professionally managed IT Lab. The lab is designed to equip students from Std. 5 through Junior College with essential technology skills, bridging the digital divide and opening pathways to future learning and employment.

What We Delivered

The initiative established a fully equipped IT Lab, including:

  • Latest-generation laptops with software licences, connectivity, and power backup
  • A dedicated full-time IT faculty member for structured, year-round instruction
  • Purpose-built lab infrastructure — ergonomic furniture, electrical fittings, and a safe, dedicated learning environment
  • Climate control to keep equipment and students comfortable through the year

Lasting Community Impact

Beyond hardware, the lab becomes a launchpad. It enables the school to introduce coding, graphic design, digital literacy, and virtual classroom sessions — preparing students for college and careers in IT, design, and engineering. By making learning more engaging and relevant, it also supports better academic outcomes and stronger retention, in step with national initiatives like Digital India and Skill India.
